Lilburn Education

Students who live in Lilburn attend schools in the Gwinnett County Public School system or may attend one of several private schools. Public schools in Lilburn have an average of 14 students per teacher, 597 students per librarian, and 493 students per counselor. Berkmar High School is the largest high school in Lilburn with almost 2,950 students. Parkview High School has received many awards for excellence in both academics and athletics, and it has about 2,650 students.

There are three public middle schools in Lilburn: Lilburn Middle School has about 1,190 students, Trickum Middle School has about 1,880 students, and Berkmar Middle School has about 990 students. Public elementary schools include G.H. Hopkins Elementary with 1,765 students, Lilburn Elementary with 1,315 students, Rebecca Minor Elementary with 1,170 students, Camp Creek Elementary with 1,025 students, Arcado Elementary with 895 students, Knight Elementary with 706 students, Mountain Park Elementary with 650 students and R.D. Head Elementary, which also has 650 students.

Private schools in Lilburn

There are over 35 churches in Lilburn and many residents prefer to send their children to private schools where they can receive religious education that is not available in the public schools. Colleges and universities in or near Lilburn

Established in 1976, Gwinnett College at 4230 Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn is a private, for-profit, 2-year college with over 3,200 students that offers Associate Degrees in the fields of business, medicine, law, and computer science.

Garmon Beauty College at 4643 Lawrenceville Highway, Lilburn, is a technical school offering various certifications in the field of cosmetology.

About 15 miles away from Lilburn, two more colleges are located in Decatur. DeVry University at 250 N. Arcadia Avenue is a private college with about 5,300 students offering Bachelor’s and Associate degrees in Business Administration, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, and many other technical subjects.

Georgia Perimeter College at 3251 Panthersville Road is the third largest institution in the University System of Georgia with more than 21,500 students. Degrees offered include Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Sciences, and Associate of Arts.
